Since joining Cal Poly Pomona in August 2025, I have taught courses in American government, political research methods, and women and politics. My teaching spans lower- and upper-division courses, including general education and political science major requirements, and encompasses both substantive and research methods instruction.
PLS 2010: Introduction to American Government

This course introduces students to the institutions, processes, and political dynamics of American government. Topics include the Constitution, federalism, Congress, the presidency, the judiciary, elections, political participation, and public policy.
PLS 2051: Research Methods
Semesters: Fall 2025, Spring 2026
An introduction to the principles and methods of political science research. Students explore research design, hypothesis development, conceptualization, measurement, data collection, and basic data analysis, with an emphasis on evaluating empirical evidence and conducting systematic political inquiry.
PLS 4250: Women and Politics in America
An examination of the role of women in American politics, with particular attention to political participation, representation, and the influence of gender on political institutions and processes. Topics include women's political engagement, electoral politics, gender stereotypes, and public policy.
PLS 3055 and PLS 3055A: Advanced Research Methods (Lecture and Activity)
An advanced examination of quantitative research methods in political science, emphasizing statistical analysis and the interpretation of empirical data. Topics include descriptive statistics, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, and the analysis of relationships between political variables.

An examination of African American struggles for civil rights and political equality throughout American history. Topics include the origins and development of the Civil Rights Movement, major organizations and political leaders, strategies of protest and resistance, and the role of government in advancing and restricting racial equality.

An examination of American history and political development through the experiences and contributions of African Americans, from the colonial period through Reconstruction. Topics include slavery, the founding of the United States, abolitionism, the Civil War, emancipation, and the struggle for citizenship and political rights.

A continuation of African American history and political development from the late nineteenth century to the present. Topics include Jim Crow segregation, the Great Migration, the Civil Rights Movement, Black political participation, and ongoing struggles for racial equality and representation.

I serve as a faculty advisor to the Political Science Club and as the department's faculty lead for the Sacramento Semester Program, which provides students with opportunities to gain practical experience in California state government.
